Here's the only other stage I have ready so far. I wasn't ready to present it at the time of Snake Man's completion, as it was still in dire need of tweaking. Here's at least a presentable version though I'll probably edit it even more.

I faced quite a bit of lag when attempting to record this video. This has resulted in many runs ending in failure when the lag kicks in, the jump button isn't quite released, and I shoot up into spikes or some other catastrophic death. It's really annoying! I really think I need a new computer... but it's at least good to know it didn't affect my video conversion at all. :D

Anyway, aside from that, I can't judge whether this stage is easier or harder than Snake Man's. It's certainly not as long though some jumps are tricky while underwater. Originally, some of those were even harder, to the point of where I rarely made them so I gave some grace.

As I told a few people, I'll release a demo version once I complete two more stages. I'm thinking Spark Man and either Needle or Top next. Any suggestions? I plan to save Magnet Man for later due to certain reasons.

Enjoy!

  • This hack looks amazing so far! Very cool gimmick combos (Water + Shadow + Hatch platforms :O!) and, minus the shutters, everything seems to be working perfect.

One of my favorite things about hacks are weapon edits, so if you could include those as well, this could very well be one of the best MM3 hacks out there. The weapon edits wouldn't have to be major! (IE Spark Shock has 8 direction shot, Multiple Shadow Blades from one shot, Top Spin can be used w/o jumping .) Good luck :D!

  • Thanks! I'm glad you like it. :D

And I want to edit the bosses in addition to weapons. If I gain the knowledge to do that, I'll make the weapons you mentioned different, but...

Spark Wave: Shoot a medium-sized wall of electricity forward, travels pretty fast and can either stun or damage enemies. If an enemy is stunned, you can still shoot more, unlike Spark Shot.

Shadow Slash: Like Twin Slasher, but better. You can change the angle of the crescents somewhat by using up or down.

    Good ideas?

  • This is not just good, this is amazing. And I thought it would be so hard to work with Shadowman's low amount of rooms, but you pulled it off perfectly!

About the shadow blade turning black, I doubt that will happen unless the sprite for shadow blade in the Shadowman fight over there was the same one Megaman uses for his attack.

  • I'm glad to see you liked the stage! :D Someone else apparently didn't and (I think) one-starred my video because the overall rating suddenly dropped to four stars. =/

I increased the amount of rooms he had by about four or five. The level can still be interesting even with the amount of rooms it has by default, but I was quickly running out so I used more. XD

And yeah, I checked. Shadow Blades are still the same color when Mega Man throws them. He's just not ninja enough. :B

  • He's probably just a bored and angry troll, the kind of person who hates life. And blames it on others.

How did you do THAT? When I do it, my level editor's screen gets very strangely colored (usually grey) when I go to the extra rooms. Do you work around that?

  • What do you use to make your stages? I use a combination of Mega FLE X, MM3Editor and Rock3edit, as they all excel in different areas. For increasing rooms or altering hallways, I use MM3Editor. There are empty, unused rooms in each stage. Each level should have ~32 rooms total, but keep in mind some of them rely on other rooms when they are altered. (ex. when you beat Proto Man, the floor disappears) If you need more help, PM me and I'll try to describe it in greater detail, the little I know.

  • Hmm... "Shadow Zone?"

    Another horrible name! :D

  • dont worry about liking wily stages too much. this is my favorite mega man music anyways...

  • @Raiyukazumori How you coming up on the hack? when is it going to be final? And making Shadowblade more like Metalmans weapon, no need to change ammo or power, its pretty weak in most cases anyhow, and the boomerang effect is both fugly and annoying, or maybe you could make it be thrown at random directions say downward, forward and upward at a small angle at a faster pace, keep it up and dont leave us hanging here, it looks really dandy!

  • VERY nice hack! Looks really difficult, but really fun.

  • Did you ever consider givng the game a music tune from MM2 or 1, but now with MM3 instruments?

Why notremake one from a different game that would work well here?

...Damn, you have shadow down to a tee...

  • Yeah give the parachuters more stamina! The section has pretty good challenge added with the submarines too.

  • This is amazing!

  • Wow this is amazing! I can't wait to try it myself.

  • This is an awesome and unique take on Shadow Man's level; keep up the good work! :D
