  • I'm sorry that you are hurt and frustrated. However, just like there is white privilege, there is light-skin privilege. This is America and until we all recognize it and sterilize the issue with sunshine, we will never get past it. As a child, did you ever notice people oohing and aahing at for you while the cute little brown child was ignoring. When you were a teen did you notice the black guys passing all the girls the color of their sisters and mother to talk to you? Open your eyes.

  • I call bullshit. And its always the blacks shouting united we stand trying to break the us down as a people smh.

  • My god will everyone just shut up about "privlege" already! Yes, light/pretty/tall/skinny/rich/male/blonde/straight/whatever people are "privleged". Stop fucking whining about it and actually make a change if it's such an issue to you! Instead of hating people who are born a certain way, hate the system that perpetuates it! If you're American, black or white, you are privleged anyway. If you can read, you are privleged. Ugh... people just..... ugh!

  • @porkchop745 True...

  • @blossom23 if some one's hair isn't chemically treated, it is considered natural whether they're white or black. You can't just determine a new definition for natural lol ~ it is what it is. And of course I can consider myself a part of any community I want to ~ I wasn't asking for your permission, but I WAS pointing how ignorant you sounded when you said that us curly haired girls were trying to weasel into a "movement" ~ what movement? I am natural because it is the right thing for ME.

  • I SO TOTALLY AGREE WITH THIS VIDEO...I DID TWO VIDEOS TALKING ABOUT THIS SITUATION I'm still learning not to give a fuck what "black girls say"

  • cont: black women STARE ME DOWN and make rude sly little comments. I asked my mom one day when I was frustrated "why the F do they look @me that way!!!" I walk in walmart, and "my own" people look at me like im an alien. I wont give my opinion as to why it is, because it really doesnt matter, the point is...it must stop. I can be black, with nice curly hair (or "different" hair for that matter) with out having being made to feel like im the one with the problem. F them sista!

  • well... Im late, and I know it...but I MUST COMMENT!!! I too feel the way you seem to be feeling right now. Im not a "follower" of yours [yet :)] but I must say that I totally feel what you are feeling. I have always said that people react 1 of 2 ways to me and my hair...because I am brown skinned with curly-not really kinky- hair, most of the time people ask me if I am mixed/biracial. my answer is no- I am mistaken for Dominican, Rican, Brazilian...you name it...anything but black "american"...

  • we are the same. I embrace you and your journey. keep on rocking your beautiful curls....you are natural and you are one of "us"

  • People often project on others what they feel about themselves whether good or bad.
