On October 2nd, 1970 a plane carrying Wichita State University football players, faculty, and community members crashed in the Colorado mountains. Lineman Rick Stephens survived the crash.

This day is engraved in my memory forever. My boyfriend was killed in the crash. I remember how difficult it was for the surviving players. I pray that they've been able to find peace and live a happy life in spite of this tragedy.

my uncle played offensive line at WSU in the 1960's. God Bless those that died in the plane crash.

Different tragedy. Marshall is another school whose football team went through something similar. This is about Wichita State.
