The delay makes it more rude. Was this intentional?

There is basically no way to make this without any delay as the curtain acts based on visual observation and not on supersticious forces. The more time you invest in coding and/or the more money you invest in hardware, the shorter you can get this delay. While developing and improving such a thing, you just have to decide at a point whether you're ok with the result or not (yet). I like the particular way the curtain moves, as I think it gives it a funny Sisyphus character.

Lol hilarious. totally impractical, but very hilarious. Check out the automated blinds on my channel. Mine works based on whether its sunny out or not but I'm thinkin it'd be cool to do it on a busy street like yours based on face recognition and have them slam shut whenever anyone looks at the window.
