When I was commission to do the score for this project, I could scarcely foresee how wonderfully engaging it would be. This is the story of a rather malcontent Frog called Desi. In his mind the world around him is a proverbial heap of squalor and he needs to remove himself from that. Unfortunately Desi ultimately looses all touch with reality and tragedy ensues.

I hope you will all check out the game and grab a copy!

  • I can't wait to check out the game to see how you integrated this score into it. I love how this score is all over the place, in a good way. Very well done sir, well done indeed.

  • @TheDarris Glad you like it! Its fun working on scores like this where you can jump from one feeling / emotion to the next in a few seconds. Thanks for taking the time to listen :)

  • Very nice. How do you get the wide stereo separation? Are you sending a slightly delayed signal to the opposite side with some of the instruments? Assuming these are software instruments, do you record all the instruments in stereo or some in mono or what? (Eg. traditional recording of a trumpet is one mic, mono, panning done later in the mix). I never can get this 'wide' sound when I try this type of stuff.

  • @JamesGilbertMusic Thanks! I actually don't do all that much processing... For this one I panned the instruments in the mix from the perspective of the conductor's podium. I also carefully worked with reverb to make sure that instruments on the left side of the room got the correct kind of reflections from the right side etc, if that makes sense. In the final stages I also used just a smidgen of stereo enhancement.

  • Wow! Very dynamic. I'd be hard pressed to do something like that. Fantastic work!

  • @Swidhelm Thanks so much! A couple of years back I did a childrens' opera which had a very similar feel to it so I think the experience from that served me well with this score.

  • @Strepitoso It's no problem. You are one of my favorite channels on youtube to watch. I am still looking forward to the progress of your Requiem. Cheers.
