It's a good thing that they changed this episode. Because if they didn't we wouldn't see a nerdy and lovable Xander Harris. We wouldn't know the great back story of Darla. The way the vampires die would be boring. And more importantly no Alyson Hannigan.

The Library was like on old cliché horror movie set. Willow was just... NOT Willow. The vampires took about a minute to die, and having Darla die by "Willow" holding a cross to her face... eh, no!

Willow that melts Darla off.Come ON! Thank god they changed eveything. I liked the library tho.

And the Vampires that die that way?It's even worst than buffy the movie way lol

i think they did much better with this episode (buffy and giles wise) than in the aired episode. since buffy in the buffy was well... i think worse than cordy hahah, and buffy from movie was hotter hahah by FAR! and Giles is much more professional and watcher like than in the episode aired, the aired he was more laid back and accepting. didnt like the xander and willow character roles though. she did not suit willow! however PROPS! to them all for a job well done, since the show did infact air!

I think the increase in the production value gave more faith to the actors. Any BtVS fan knows that SMG is an amazing actress and IS Buffy, but in this unaired pilot, her acting is not nearly her best, even though much of the dialogue is the same. I think she played a very one-dimensional Buffy here and once the show had promise, she made her far less superficial. Thankfully the writers, actors, & network committed to giving the show a greater depth, otherwise I doubt we'd have 7 great seasons!
