O.K., now I really don't know what it is. I have 3 people telling me what they think this is. I think yours is sounds better though, it does look like a pile driver.

That is a crane, for a bridge gang, used as a pile driver.

Wrecking work is now contracted out to companies like Hucher and Coram. At one time the first part was an Ohio crane (I suppose in a way it still is). However the equipmwnt is now setup for movement of sections of CW rail.

I don't think its owned by bnsf probly an independent company it says ohio under it

Even though it has the BNSF logo on the side of it, and next to the number it says AT&SF. But, who knows.

its a 40 to 50 ton crane built by Ohio crane its both crane and pile driver thats why theres two types of booms on the flat car also the crane can move on its own but for long distances they pop the gear out and move them at restricted speed on mainline runs
