Henrietta Ónodi HUN
1990 Goodwill Games, event finals - balance beam
9.812 7th place

Beam was probably Heni's weakest event but she did some nice gymnastics despite that. The move she does at 0:27 is named after her (although Olga Mostepanova did it first). I think it's one of the prettiest skills on beam. I love that handstand she does too. The triple twist dismount she performs here was a rare one in the 1990s.

  • @ralucagymnast Yeah When you watch old Comps from late 80's and early 90's The British commentators always call it "the mostepanova" when Onodi does it

  • Olga actually performed the backhandspring halftwist walkover out in the 1983 World Championships, but it wasnt named after her because she didnt submit it. Its a shame, as it was her move.

  • It's interesting that in Romania I hear sports commentators mentioning "the Mostepanova" like it's named after Olga. But in fact, it couldn't have been, as she wasn't in any Olympics because of the boycott. I also remember Onodi very vividly, although I was only a child back then.

  • Thanks!

  • Olessia Dudnik did a triple twist dismount at the 1989 Worlds (and elsewhere).
