montreal has been around just as long as you guys and they have like 26 stanely cups and detroit has more stanely cups than the rangers and they've been around just as long and the rangers first won the stanely cup when their were like 6 teams in the NHL lol... but yea i guess if you suck for a while and than you win something after a while your automatically a hero

woah there buddy. the 1980 US hockey team was a bunch of heroes. their run was incredible, and their win over the soviets was the greatest underdog story in sports history.
