If you're going to call a "sellout", every current and former Liberal who supports a price on carbon - either publicly or privately - you're going to run out of heroes. Did you know Greg Hunt, the LNP's Environment spokesman, won a prize for his uni thesis, "A Tax to Make the Polluters Pay"? Even Abbott whose direct action plan has the same CO2 reduction targets as the carbon price, previously backed a tax. He doesn't now only because he feels he has to oppose everything the other side does.

The Carbon Tax will allow for significant funding of renewable innovation, manufacture and sale and that alone, will help tackle climate change.

or perhaps he got his intel from 32 national academy of sciences which all endorse the basic conclusions of the IPCC, not to mention the CSIRO, BOM, NASA, NOAA, etc

They can't? The increase in forcing is about 2W/M-2, if you read the actual published literature you will find that the estimates of the increase in solar insolation since 1750 are between 3 and 10 W/M-2 more than enough to account for all the warming. To get the figure it wanted the IPCC used a value of only .5W/M-2, oddly enough this figure was from a paper by the lead author of the chapter. And I didn't say the planet was "recovering" from anything. Comprehension starts with reading ability.
