  • Exactly. I've been playing and singing this one for months and I have yet to get his touch. Very tricky despite it's simplicity.

That's what the masters do. They hang on a Bm chord for 16 bars and blow your mind with the subtle complexity they apply as though it's child's play.

Jose is as good as they come. I love this performance dearly.

  • Brilliant. Anyone who knows anything about rhythm can observe what he does with it and be absolutely mystified.

  • 'BOUT DAMN TIME!!!!!!!!!! GO JOSE!!!!

  • THIS VID IS VINTAGE!! SMOKINNNN HOTTT! @ognet ((THANK YOU))

keep em comin fellow tuber! ((LONG LIVE THE 70'S)) Port!!

  • Reminds me of the closing credits for Chico & the Man. Freddy Prinze would say

"Chico & the Man was recorded live before a studio audience".....

    MCMLXXVIII copyright 1978

the show Good Times did that too "Good Times was recorded live....."

Shows don't do that anymore :-(

  • @ricantarzan --Right on !!!!!.

  • me too

  • this is really a love connection between him and the guitar, they´re mind connected. he plays it soo good, he really feels the music.

  • I love the Soul Train crowd getting down to some Jose.

That's gotta be a tough crowd to impress!

    You better bring some SOUL!

  • Remember when most TV shows had opening and closing theme songs? (Dragnet, Hawaii 5-0, Brady Bunch, All in the Family, Good Times, Family Ties, Jeffersons, Happy Days, Welcome Back Kotter, etc). "Hard Times in El Barrio" is one example of how easy it is to put a lasting impression on the viewer even if its just a small part of the entire show.

I wish the networks would appreciate the theme songs as an integral part of the show instead of trying to hustle us through into the commercials.

  • I always liked this song better than the opening theme for Chico and the Man. This one was more like a Santana song. It had soul & grit to it.
