@mintzkie009 .....no it's solid state but when the FDD button is pressed in, it sounds like one. I actually prefer playing through this little practice amp when in a small room than my Blues Jr. Thanks for your inquiry !

The FDD means Frequency Dampening Device.
It's basically the same tone as a tube gets.
