Riding the Galzig Gondola, St Anton, Arlberg, Austria.
This video shows the entry to this gondola lift station, entering a gondola, riding it up through the cable-mounting system, views from the gondola on its way up the mountain, arriving at the top station, and finally exiting from the gondola.
This gondola system is of the DMC type (Double Mounted Cable), whereby the gondolas are carried on two parallel cables instead of the usual one. This one has a very complicated mechanism for lifting each gondola up from the passenger loading level to be loaded onto the cables.
The glass-fronted lower lift building allows the workings to be displayed like a work of art.
