Competitive Enterprise Institute President Fred L. Smith, Jr. debates proposed new regulations on the credit card industry, and what the changes could mean for consumers.
If you use a credit card as a way to make payments rather than as a source of loans, then you don't have a problem with fees and interest. Stop using them as a source of credit.
I gotta say, Fred, you weren't doing very well in this debate. You kept repeating the same talking points rather than fine-tuning or using different arguments for different questions. I would've expected more from someone from the CEI. You talked about the competition but provided very little examples of real competition in the credit card industry. I mean, don't ALL credit card companies do these filthy practices that were cited in the debate by the host? So it's hard to compare.
fred got owned. free market wha wha wha. nothing new here folks. by the way, who'd that work out for you?
