@aboteh Of course there are Taiwanese. Just like someone would say they are Shanghainese or Cantonese. The reason your passport says Taiwan is because the Republic of China is also known as Taiwan. It says that because there are two China's. If it didn't say Taiwan, people like you would be confused and would think people from Taiwan are from mainland China. Our country is called the Republic of China. If I asked, they would say 我是中國人or 我是台灣人。 Your point? You're still Chinese. Still a 華人。
