  • In the unauthorized biography she cried after the performance because of that mistake. She really adored Solti- she is on a higher playing field whenever he is with her.

  • @beejayem76 Is there a recording of sills singing it on here? i would love to hear it.... her "casta Diva" is heaven too!

  • This is how a PROFESSIONAL handle's a mistake. Dame Kiri is human after all, which is difficult for thoes of us to understand who are "mere mortals" in the singing world.

  • She didn't miss any beats rest - she left out a passage of semi-quavers which would have taken her down another minor third meaning it would have taken her a bit longer to get to the top of that cadenza... which in stead she got to too early and had to sit there until the orchestra caught up... which they did. Nobody would have even noticed! Good on ya Kiri. Beverly Sills whips your arse in this aria, but would have been a lovely concert I'm sure.

  • 4:32 there should be a half rest

    She knows she messed up

Actually pretty much everything from 4:32 is improv by them both. Kiri trying to find Solti, Solti trying to find Kiri, it'd be funny if it wasn't so awkward to watch.

That look she gives at the very last second says it all really.

  • In the final, at 4:36. Note that there is a little blank from the orchestra, but then they save the mistake.

  • at 4:40. she takes a wrong switch and tries somehow to come to terms with that problem... you can hear that the music she sings and the music the orchestra plays don`t go togehter for about 15 seconds... things like that happen, even to a great artist like her. it`s a pity but not the end of the world...

  • ricordo d'infanzia...bellissimo

  • where is the mistake? i don´t know this piece, can someone tell me?

    thanks
