Apple does not only use different SSD's in their MacBook Airs but also different display panels. (LG and Samsung)

Fortunately both panels are high quality but the LG display is not as good when it comes to color reproduction. This is not a reason to run to your next Apple Store though because this can be fixed with a adjusted color profile.

EDIT: YouTube does not allow it to be posted, send me a message /email or ask me on twitter. Sorry guys.

If your display id starts with LP you have a LG display.

  • @techcentury yup, it's a good machine by the way, you'll love it and enjoy

  • @tedinoxford Oh yes, definitely.

  • It's funny though. Last time, people said LG screen on the MacBook Pro is superior to Samsung. Now on the MacBook Air people said the other way round.

  • @tedinoxford I assume this might be the case because LG and Samsung are the best manufacturers for panels anyways but the quality probably differs from panel to panel and either one you have, both are still very good.

  • LG screen is brighter but has flatter color. Samsung screen is dimmer but has richer color. I guess it's even.

  • @tedinoxford That definitely sounds like it but on the LG you can adjust the colors with a custom color profile. There is nothing that you can do against reduced brightness.

  • @Jaysondk You are very welcome! It is awesome that this also helps on the MacBook pro.

    Thank you for watching.

  • Thank you Sebastian! it helped my Macbook Pro screen.

  • @JSantana319 Oh ok, did not notice that yet, will compare it to my old iPhone 4. Thanks.

  • @TechCentury The screens on the iPhone 4S and iPad 2 are more yellow because of the color temperature being warmer than it's predecessors.
