@blastoise114 The song ashes to ashes used the line "You know Major Tom's a junkie" and like Eminem's alter egos and characters, that album used space travel to symbolize him being high on drugs, most likely heroin. "The papers" wanting to know about his fashion tastes are other junkies and "ground control" is most likely a friend or dealer. That's why "Tell my wife I love her very much." is him saying goodbye before deliberately over-dosing.

@blastoise114 .. I interupt the song as... Major Tom is a True American Hero... He went into space knowing he wouldn't return, (because his capsule knows which way to go) and (tell my wife I Love Her Very Much) but went anyway... I think ..wht he didn't figure on was communications quiting and thus...
He is left "Out-In-Space"... ALONE FOR THE REST OF HIS LIFE!!!!

sit in the quiet passage of a nuclear air craft carrier late at night and listen to this and maybe smoke some wacky weed and i guarentee you'll be tripping.
This song makes me want to strip naked, burst out of my room window, free fall 21 floors, land in the snow, make a snow angel, shiver from the cold, get hypothermia, DIE!, go the pearly gate, say whats up to Saint Peter, do our secret hand shake, look in the directory for Siddhartha (Buddha), find Him, have Him reincarnate me into a frog, meet a princess, kiss her, turn into a prince, order my subjects to bring me a computer, and listen to this song again
