By videographer Michael Lopez, depicts a ride aboard a westbound passenger train from Santa Cruz to the outskirts of San Jose, on Gary Siegel's 1:32 scale Southern Pacific Railroad Santa Cruz Division. This large (approx. 150' x 200') garden layout features over 1100 live dwarf Alberta Spruce trees, all planted, pruned and tended by Gary. As your train moves along the rails you will no doubt hear the sounds of frogs emanating from the runoff creek that runs through the back yard.
This layout (as well as Gary's famed indoor 1:87 scale L&N Eastern Kentucky Division layout) will be open for touring on June 19th & June 20th, 2010 for special benefit of the Parkinson's Association of Santa Barbara. Please contact me for information regarding this event.
as a train guy who has actually operated this layout this puts a new perspective on running Gary's layout..... as it is i'm always in awe of this layout and his HO layout.... all i can say is THANKS Gary for sharing .......

When I first realized this was a video of a model RR, my initial impulse was to roll my eyes and click for another video. Boy was I wrong! This is absolutely amazing! The detail and time/care taken to produce this is stunning. The only thing missing is simulated diesel exhaust smoke from the locomotive, but who cares. This layout must have cost a fortune to buy and maintain.
