I don't think there is any line between patriotism and nationalism. I think both are allegiances to the state and the myth of "the nation" which serve to cover the crimes caused by said state (and its legitimizing force, "the nation").

I agree with the latter half though, the use of the word "we" is a sneaky term. However, if you think about it, the right wing is always in bed with authority, so it would make sense that they identify with the actions of their governments.
