Me and 3 of my friends drove all night from Nova Scotia to see this race, I remember Wise and Hannah going at it. Awesomeness!

This was my first race I went to when I was 15. Been going ever since and I will be there this Saturday I can't wait it never gets old.

Hannah was really the fastest rider that day. He complained how his Yamaha was a foul-handling bike. He crashed out both motos on the steep downhill with the left turn. Wise crashed in the first moto because he couldnt see, and he finished 4, 1. Neil Hudson of Great Britan was the overall winner on a factory Yamaha, finishing 2, 2. Hudson was the 250cc world champ that year, 1981.

Wise was a great rider that won mx, flat track and road races all at the pro level, but nobody could excite a crowd like Hannah !

I remember buying the November 1981 issue of Cycle magazine. I was new to motorcycling back then and Hannah was really my idol. I loved the way Cycle covered the race and the photo of Bob's Yamaha coming out of a corner was just great. He was leaning forward getting the front to stick while the rear was obviously sliding. I kept trying to picture this race in my mind as it unfolded.
