Another older video demonstrating the concept behind the Amsoil Bypass Filter System. These Filters have been improved upon since then with the release of the Ea Bypass Filters.

  • can a bypass filter fit in any car?

  • @sk8freak51392 There are two systems, one is a single unit, where you keep the normal full flow filter in the stock location and add the bypass remotely. This works best for tight engine compartments, etc. But if you do have the room, the dual system will remote mount both. I have the dual on my Mustang in front of the radiator. These are the Universal units. There are a few available for specific diesel trucks applications, like the Powerstroke, Cummins, and Duramax.

  • mcarino98 - Both BMW and Porsche have been using 15,000 mile or one year drain intervals for many years, when using a better performing synthetic oil. AMSOIL can go up to 35,000 miles without needing to be changed, so more than double that 15,000 mile interval. AMSOIL is great stuff! :)

  • I just added a Bypass system in my 1980 Mustang. I dont know anything about the engine(I got it from a salvage yard years ago). Just adding the system and putting few miles on it the car is running smoother, quieter, and getting better fuel economy!

  • Great Video...I'd love to see up updated to HD format :)

  • is there any drop in oil pressure when you use this system

  • @mcarino98 It's not just the length of drain intervals, it's the quality of the product, absolutely amazing. Not to mention the fact that if it weren't for AMSOIL we'd still be stuck using conventional oil. When they were the first producer of a API and SAE approved synthetic oil in the 70's, Mobil thought the idea was ridiculous. Now a majority of Mobil sales are in synthetic oils. AMSOIL is a true leader in oil technology.

  • if want a bypass filter just buy a fram they got holes in the filter anyway hahahaha

  • @rg1565 Sorry I'm just seeing this now. Guess I need to check my comments here more often. Normally I get an email, but missed most of the conversation here. It runs all the time, just hook it up and let it do it's job. The regular full flow filter gets changed once a year, the bypass every two. The oil you change, but if you use oil analysis and it comes back good for continued use, you don't need to. Just change the filter and add the oil lost, which also boosts the additives up again.
