@celticfan61 I agree strongly with this. The more I drum, the more I realize how each drummer is great in their own way. Ginger Baker, John Bonham, Keith Moon, Stewart Copeland, Neil Peart, Ian Paice...they are all equally great. In my personal opinion, Bonzo lives on in Ian Paice.

@don2277: it's the way he do it...

He seems to be talking to himself. He is one of the best under rated drummers.

Rock drummers can't hold a candle to jazz drummers...He's good but just doing basic stuff...

super, kann man hier seit heimo keiner gruppe beitreten???? hab nach dem watzmann gesucht - aber graz ist ja international... toll!!!

Love the contrasts: Fast then slow. Heavy zipping into light. Heavy explodes from softness and vice versa. Simple growing into complex.
Awesome drum phrasing!!! Melodical.
Glad to be alive while this man has been doing his art.
Thanks for posting :)

That deep purple concert was the best concert i've ever been!

You can really see Buddy Rich's influence on Paice. If you ask me, Paice sounds the most like Buddy of any drummer I've ever heard.

Funny- I don`t understand when people say he is underrated- he is a great drummer and highly regarded by everyone

Funny I'm a lefty like Ian is and still it looks so awkward from a spectator standpoint.
Excellent drummer her is with great jazzy chops.
the part between 2:50 and 4:05 is very very very brilian, awesome and take a lot of practice!
I love Paicy, he is my master ;)
God Bless You!

I have met Paicey, and have seen Cozy Powell, Neill Pert, and many many other drummers, they would all laugh if they thought we were trying to decide who the best is. I think the truth is, that they are all great, for the music, and style they play. It seems to me that all the bad comments come from small minded little kid's who don't know 1 end of a drumstick from the other. Kevin best drummer in my basement
