This camera has done my nut in since i bought it with the memory card needing adjusting etc, finally got it up and running so thought I would stick it to my handle bars, but it doesn't fit too well as the mounting bracket is too large, anyway, just a show of why not to mount it to your handle bars - it can not handle it and this is on a road surface!! Head mount next me thinks!!! PS I stuck a pin under the battery compartment up to the card slot to hold it in place, after melting a tiny hole where it needed to be lodged - it stops comming out now!

  • Hey mate, I was on a mountain bike, it was a strong wind coming up the hill from the west so I only managed 30 mph. however with the wind behined me, blowing west at about 20 mph, I still only managed 48 mph, so I reckon your speedo is screwed! You would be lucky to get 60 on a decent road bike and to be able to hold on at that speed!

  • I think if you want to mount a camera to the handlebars you need a bike with front suspension. Other than that I think you would need an isolated mount(much smoother). I'd love to ride down this road some day.

  • I've done that road enough times, pretty good so long as the wind's behind you. 45mph on an MTB would be a good speed IMO, I doubt your gearing would allow much more than that (44/11).

Personally I'd rather hook left at the White House onto Blacky Edge, some good mtb'ing to be had there. ;-)

Been thinking about mounting a cam here on the bars to record an off-road vid though judging by this road footage I don't think it'd be such a good idea now... :-D

  • what 75 km? not miles

  • jesus christ mate. i came down there at nearly 60 on a pedal bike. comeon put some effort into it. and if you want a real thrill try tod road from bacup i got 75 down there, but make sure your brakes work, simpsonite46{at}hotmail{dot}com if u wanna comment
