  • What the gravedigger said was just wrong no one deserves to go to hell... And i agree with the fact that being mad at someone who commited suicide is just as selfish.

  • The stuff that the scientist spoke about concerning the brain, serotonin, decision making and etc; really rang true for me. I have Bipolar and I always try to keep perspective during depressive episodes with the scientific facts - it being my brain not working properly and that it's not a true reflection of me or how I feel. I've only ever genuinely planned suicide once, when I was 9 years old. I'm 30 now.

all the what ifs - you know. im not sure why im putting something so personal in a comment but right now typing how much i miss him is making this moment a little less terrible

  • @milesinnz

Good point. They do say the first 3 years of your life determine who you will be as an adult. I come from a difficult childhood which even without the Bipolar, I have issues with to this day. And which caused me to develop OCD. So perhaps the early environment that I grew up has something to do with the Bipolar too.

I certainly don't equate it with solely being born with a defective brain.

  • @TheGretchenRoss29 Additionally, since 1950, suicides in the USA have increased by 60% - we could argue the exact numbers, but if suicide has a genetic basis, then presumably more people with the "suicide" gene are having children? It couldn't possibly be the environment could it? Sure there could be a genetic pre-disposition for some people to be more sensitive than others, but how can you label that the suicide gene? Suicide has an overwhelming environment factor.

  • @TheGretchenRoss29 But which came first, the abnormal serotonin levels or the negative environment that created the abnormal serotonin levels? The brain has the most potential connections at aged 2, and from there on, dependent on the environment the brain makes neuro connections. The mental health system is desperate to "prove" there is something wrong with the individual and thus nothing wrong with the environment because if something was proven to be wrong with the environment, then what?

  • Commiting suicide is as selfish as making babys. The one who didn't choose to come to this world has the very right to get off it. This is equity. There is an infinity of other ways to get through problems though.

  • @Yeppox then god would be going against his own rules. " Do On to other s

as you would want to be done to you", and " Love your enimeys" Peace be with you also ( and sorry for the bad spelling )

  • @Yeppox Im sorry to hear about your troubles :( I think no one deserves to feel like that.

    I think the only thing

keeping me alive sometimes is the fact that I might get sent

to hell. But in my opinion not even hitler deserves to go to Hell to suffer for all atternaty. God wants everyone to be forgiving anf loving.

and if he really loves us I dont think he

would send his children to sucha place. If there were such thing as hell

  • @Duvmasta yes its an australian accent. like mine, no mistaking the aussie accent.

  • I agree with you, no one deserves to go to Hell. But suicide is a selfish act and the only person you are hurting are your loved ones. What the grave digger said was blunt and to the point but it made sense, I'm sorry to say. Oh, and I don't think the grave digger had an accent, I think he was missing teeth and didn't have dentures.
