Note something Tarkin said to Vader about the jedi: "you, my friend, are all that is left of their religion."

Palpatine's motive for "Order 66" was that the jedi were the only rivals to himself and Vader in knowledge of the force. Tarkin, however, not believing in the force, is probably unaware that this was the reason and sees the jedi as a religion.

So basically, this means Tarkin condones having people rounded up and killed for their religious beliefs. We knew he was evil, but still...

@chichiboypumpi i did like ewan mcgregor, and ian mcdiarmid, but samuel l. jackon was weak, and hayden christensen was terrible, a bitching and whining character. i thought anakin skywalker was sippose to be mean, not a cry baby. liam neeson was a great jedi, as for christopher lee, you can never choose a finer actor to play iconic villains.
