(High School Film Project) Thesis:
The film will be composed of video clippings (each less than thirty seconds) that represent American pop culture, politics, conflicts, and society. Underlying the entire film will be the song "I'm Afraid of Americans" by David Bowie and Nine Inch Nails. The goal is to exploit and utilize these 'American' clips to create a very unsavory and ironic image of American capitalist culture. The Clips will be edited to the beat of the music and a number of fast/slow/reverse effects techniques will be employed. I want to convey my heartfelt glimpse of certain contemporary aspects of my culture, hopefully creating a crystallized emotional response in the viewer.

I several years ago I was pretty upset about the angry right-wing comments that were posted on this video. In an embittered state I deleted every comment... accidentally including praise from a dead friend. It was as adolescent as I was.
I didn't and I don't hate America. Critical of it yes. But that's a good thing. Watch this video with a dark sense of humor. It's really about how deadly seductive media can be.
