I just do not get it! Why are women wrilting negative comments about "standing my your man"! This is Canada, and not India! Women have equal rights to Men! ... Is there something wrong about a lady standing by the man she loves very much?

Although this song may have been interpreted as a message for women to take a submissive role in the relationship, I think the lyrics can still be valuable today. The idea for a woman to stand by her man and show the whole world she loves him is still valid. The key in any relationship is to get rid of the allusion that it's a 50/50 deal. The truth is, relationships are 100/100. Each person give everything they have to achieve something greater than either could alone.

If Carrie's versions sucks, why did she get a standing ovation? She was not the only performer that night.

The Blues Brothers did a much better version of this song.

Seeing this rendition totally made me change my opinion of this song. Unlike Tammy Wynette who was known to be married to a cheat, Carrie doesn't bring that baggage to the stage with her. I liked her, I enjoyed the song once more.

Its pretty good :) but the song itself is kinda sad back in the day when women had to sit back and let there men walk all over them because its there husband, but it also shows you how people didnt just get a divorce because of a bump in the road
