Hey bigmrclean I agree with you, plus you sound a lot like one of my brothers who basically turned in his rock music and his guitars for banjo and fiddles, he would agree to that this new stuff doesnt have enough steels and fiddles.. he refers to todays country as "coca cola cowboy" music lol
this song is out of time/place being covered by a modern artist. Its' a song made to comfort women who did not have the courage to devoice a man who regularly fucked around on them.
She's an OK singer but does not have the voice of a young Loretta, Tammy or Dolly. Just listen to their 60s/70s songs right here. The power in their chest voice up into their highest registers overpowers those old sm58s they're singing into. Those girls could sing over a backing band without a PA, just like opera singers soar over a full orchestra.
