Kelly is SCARED of Slamson, the Sacramento King's Mascot!

Kelly from the Wake Up Call is scared of different things. She is scared of larger than life objects and she is also scared of 'creatures". Kelly hates bugs, rodents, and as we found out, she is also scared of mascots.

It was the 9th birthday of Slamson! Slamson is the lion mascot of the NBA's Sacramento Kings. He stopped by the 107.9 the End studio to bring us breakfast, and scared the CRAP out of Kelly.

Jason grabbed his video camera. This was all off the air, but so much fun, we had to put it online.

I work as a mascot at a flea market, I dress up as a raccoon and I always get the odd kid who's scared but I'm patient and pretend to be scared too. Babies aren't sure what to think of me in costume which is understandable, small children can be shy but with proper approaching and playing with them they're good after that. I've had a case where a teenage girl was terrified of mascots. It's one thing for babies and small children but older people, it's strange, who knows the cause of the fear.

Thats funny, I understand why children get scared. But really??? You need to meet the person under the suit. Mascots are special people.
