A video describing my 2010 Field Day effort and a promo for QRP (very low power) operating. This includes audio of my QSO with the York Radio Club, W9YRC in Illinois. If you've never tried QRP before, you're missing out on a lot of fun! I was active from West Barnet, Vermont on 80 through 6 meters, and made 220 QSOs with a mere 5 watts output. Some QSOs were made with 1 watt.

  • Love your videos! Excellent stuff! I remember when 10m was open for DX during the last sunspot cycle, and I would regularly make DX contacts running 5 watts into a dipole from here in the Midwest. For me, running 100w 'barefoot' into a 3 element yagi is 'big gun' territory!

  • Sean - well made video with a good look at what's possible when you try.

  • Realistic QRP operations.

W9YRC is the Field Day station for the York Radio Club in Elmhurst, IL about 15 miles west of downtown Chicago. Thanks Sean !
