I thought the Coen Brothers were going to go right into producing "The Yiddish Policemen's Union" when they were done with "A Serious Man." If they're still going ahead with it, I think "True Grit" may finance "'Union," assuming it makes enough of a profit.
"Inglorious Basterds" turned out to be an alternate history revenge fantasy. Will this spawn a small genre of same. "Fatherland" is the only other alternate history film off the top of my head.
I loved the book and I was worried when I heard it was going to be made into a movie. I felt a lot better, though, when I heard that the Cohen brothers were going to produce it. If anybody in Hollywood could pull it off, it would be them.

Soon to be a Coen brother's film. Right up their alley.
