California College Pathways- Precious Story

Precious is a graduating senior at CSU Los Angeles and a Court Scholar. She overcame many challenges during her sixteen years in the foster care system. She often heard from foster parents and other adults that she would never achieve anything in her life, yet she now holds an AA degree and will shortly graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Social Work. Precious thanks her mentor Ms. Gina Giacone for her constant support and encouragement. Precious would like to inspire other youth to reach for their goals regardless of their background or involvement in the foster care system.
