What you do if you forgotten the master code, and you no longer use the monitoring service, and you plan on changing to another company which is the proceedure, and or where i can find the manual to find how to fix it myself without paying for someone to do it

Hello, any chance to tell or show how to change installer code, I have a vista 20p.
show installer code 20. Is that the # to enter instead of 01? thanks for your assistance.
cheers

Very strange, I was able to change it 2 weeks ago while we went on vacation and had a house sitter. Now I'm trying to change it back following the same instructions, and..... it's not working. Completely stumped.

Power cycle the system and then get to the keypad inside 45 seconds. Hold down the * and the # keys simultaneously. If the system isn't locked out, you will be in programming at the first field (20) which will allow you to change the installer code. With the installer code you will be able to then change the master code, once you're out of programming. The manuals are online. Just google vista 20P programming manual.

This didn't work for me. I tried it several times.
These instructions are for a Vista15P or 20P Controller. If you have a different controller you will need to consult your user manual. Also - make sure you don't pause during the process. If that doesn't work you dont have the master code and need to have a professional reset the system.

@securitypro1979 Hi just moved to a house that has an existing ADEMCO alarm system VISTA 20P I tried to reset the installers master code but it won`t let me install a new one, the number 20 nor 00 does not show in the screen after I disconnect and plug it back and enter the 01 master code. what can I do to program the new master code?

You must have either the installer code or the master code to change a code. If you do not have either code you will need to have a professional reset the system or spend a lot of time reading about it online. From what you described above, you are pretty far off from successfully resetting the code. I think I would recommend calling a professional in your area. We charge a flat $99 to reset a system.
