If you don't have the abs to do 4 of each kind of workout, how many do you recommend we start out with.

@TheDrummerboi94 Yeah thanks. I think I'll just stay away form crunches altogether, not that I think you're wrong or anything, it's just that there are heaps more exercises that develop the core a lot that I can use (and am using). Anyways, nice talking to you, good luck in the military man.

@TheDrummerboi94 what i'd suggest is wait until you're 17/18, then start incorporating crunches back into your fitness an see if they hurt then? it may just be your age like it was for me, remember dont sit all the way up to vertical as that mainly works the hip flexors, and running is better for that, but just crunch on a mat, or fitness ball, the ball really isolates the core, from the abs to the inner core and relieves a lot of pressure, good luck with the basketball.
Bending the spine against its natural curvature is dangerous. Exercises done properly do not cause distortion of these curves. The spine is meant to allow for twisting/bending/etc. Do people commonly place unnaturally high amounts of weight on their spine? Yes, they certainly do. Is a sit-up with a 10lb plate reasonable? Sure. Is a sit-up with a 45lb plate normal? Depends on if it's Mike Tyson or a guy built like a stick figure.

hey man I noticed you combine weights with calisthenics, not just in this vid, but your other ones as well. Any advice as far as how often you do each, or in regards to combining them?

If you can make weight lifting or calisthenics practical for your overall goal, utilize both! Dont limit yourself to one activity!
