A wonderful and fresh lovely dry gin from Islay of all places. The Botanist. Made by the progressive Hebridean distillery. Notes of walks in the forest, dry and herbal in the aftertaste, but with tonic and absolute masterpiece of a gin. Very, very civilized indeed. And with a slice of lime and some tonic, it differentiates itself from any other gin I have ever tasted.
A video from Jock Shaw of Scotch and Folk.

  • I'm not a gin drinker, but on a recent visit to Islay I tried this and was very impressed. Tried it in the distillery and then in the Port Charlotte hotel. drank it straight without mixer. Was impressed by all the different flavours coming from it and thought it was very complex. It might well turn me into an occasional gin drinker.
