It's the rally driving On The Water that attracted us to Mcpherson Park in Melton, as we check out the international challenge for the V8 Jet Boats.
With competitors from over the Tasman in attendance, the action hots up as the drivers and navigators of these powerful machines negotiate the tight and twisting course, that is not much more than a ditch.

after being used to cars and bikes and the limitations of tyres grip on the road it is impossible for me to believe that the bottom of these boats can grip the water like this. its amazing how that much power can be controlled to hold a boat on its course

Take your eyes off long enough to see where the navigator is pointing, and you'll be in the fucking PARKING LOT!!
