@TheEskimosPantry I'm actually on my way to college next year. I've been able to be a little more independent recently (my mum isn't happy about not being able to hover over my shoulder anymore, but she's accepting it,) and am really looking forward to living self-reliantly.

I have an over-protective mother, and my friends are always astonished at the things I can't do. Sometimes it can be really embarrassing. I was standing at a train ticket window the other day, and I had no idea what to do or say, because in the past I wasn't allowed to go anywhere without my mum, and had never been told how to do things like using public transport, or even ordering food in a restaurant. My mum is even nervous about letting me use the internet!

I remember all of the details from the Runion case, but I was only 5. It made me afraid of men with moustaches for a week, but I got over and have been very desensitised to "stranger danger."

I don't think the 5 second rule is necessarily something most people believe in... when it's said it's a known false sense of security...we just use it so we can eat our cookie off the floor lol
