  • Please join me in writing to the executives at Walt Disney World to bring River Country back to life. When they see how many people want it back they would have to, at least, consider fixing the problems and re-opening the park. P.O. Box 10,000, Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830-1000. Remember, this is the company that can turn nothing into something - and something is already there!!

  • Demolition costs too much. They have a lot of construction going on currently n it's easier to let nature take over n possibly rebuild one day.

  • i wonder why they wouldn't tear it down if they knew they were closing it forever

  • hello are you planing going back i never went to that park and wish at less to see the remainings

  • @ncodyn Nope. All you need to do is take the bus that runs through Ft. Wilderness Campground back to the marina and pony rides.

  • @LMann32869 It was closed due to the post 9/11 attendance drop off, but meanwhile the State of Florida passed a law stating that waterparks must use chemically-treated municipal water supplies. That nailed the coffin shut for everything there but the swimming pool. One wonders why it still stands unless they are actively lobbying to get the law changed or get a waiver for existing parks.

  • Do you have to be staying at the resort in order to get close to it>

  • hey i know it really means a lot to you people but disney forgot about that place its gone. its never comeing back

  • Sounds great, It would be a great thing to do.

  • That's actually good news! I'm happy that they will actually re-open the park =] Thanks for the updates

  • I'm just saying, they can clean the mold away. They are modifying the park "to fit a new resort they are making for 2012." That is from a source who works at disney. They can modify it to use chlorine water instead of using natural water. SO be sure to look for it in 2012!

P.S. Please don't complain about how I am commenting on a post that is already 3 months old- I already know. I am just stating the facts.
