Shiny Ditto encounter on Route 47

Just before noon on Monday, I was sitting in my hotel room in Kansas City, killing some time before it was time for me to check out and catch my shuttle to the airport. I picked up Soul Silver and tuned in to the PokeGear radio, which reported a swarm of Ditto on Route 47. I decided to head there to do my level grinding on the off chance that I might see a shiny in the swarm.

Guess what happened an hour later? :D

Nice! In my entire life of playing Pokemon since 1998 I've only encountered one legitimate shiny (besides Red Gyarados) and it was in late March of last year on my FireRed. I was just starting out on Route 2, just after the Viridian Forest. I had already caught all the pokemon there and I was training my Spearow. It was at level 8 at the time. I encountered a shiny Pidgey and I started freaking out because it was all gold and stuff!! ;D It was level 2 (male) so I had to raise it myself.

@StarTropicsKing @halfling2 Thanks, you guys! This is actually the second shiny I've encountered in ONE MONTH; I encountered two in February.

On February 6th, I was EV training just off the shore of Cianwood City when I found a Shiny Tentacool (that video's up too, but I didn't film the actual encounter; I was in the living room with my family watching the Packers VS. Steelers and playing Pokemon at the same time, and I didn't want to bug them with the whole filming-and-narrating business).

Did it transform into shiny weavile since your weavile was shiny, or because the ditto was shiny?

not bad,not bad. I also caught a shiny in fire red,i was going to catch mewtwo, but right when i was about to click mewtwo, a shiny machoke came.it was gold with blue veins. When i was leaving that cave,i found a shiny wobbufet! it was.....PINK,not my type of color,but at least a shiny, and i cauht them both.
