  • what's the inspiration behind the eye at the beginning of your videos?

  • @benjaminscameron

truth, clarity, vision, seeing the light, path to the soul...as it relates to discovering, accepting, and owning the beauty of myHair, as it is naturally.

  • I'm happy that you're happy but your comment that "we all have this hair (less frizz; more defined curl)... and it's so distressing to know we don't know our potential", is a little pretentious. That statement suggests ppl w more frizz or more of a fro than you somehow have hair that isn't just fine the way it is. You DID manipulate your hair (the CO method) and it frankly doesn't look much different than any other Afro. So let's not act like your way is somehow the "natural" way.

  • @CheezInspector

wow u really missed my point entirely. 'we' in gen do not kno our hairs potential bc we are told from young it has to be fixed via relaxer, etc so most dont know what their hair looks like just that its frizzy and impossible to manage - me included

whether u have more or less frizz has nothg to do with it - all 4b hair is fine just the way it is which was my point. the COmethod allowd easier manip. i never said my way was "the natural way" - just that it made life easier

  • Your rant is what I am living since I BC'd last month... It's amazing how when I sit on the train, NO ONE will sit next to me, but they all STARE!!! I hate it... and at the same time, I love it, cuz I know my hair looks so good that it's almost "un-normal" to see such healthiness. I'm wondering if I look militant (black panther-ish), not that I really care. Just wanted you to know you're an inspiration to many, including me. You're one of the reasons I finally decided to go natural.

  • aww! thanks!! im so glad i could help launch u into freedom! and ur true beauty :)

yup i think (esp here in america) natural hair on black women is still seen as 'militant' and angry. now ive learned to just smile. when i do its funny how their face changes to "oh, shes not mad" LOL...craziness!!!

so in a way its our job now to disband those myths - a smile goes a long way :) and it does get easier...

just wait til you get the 'is it yours / how did you do that' questions

  • yes. It'll be good to fully assess the length and get a good trim. :)

  • @cynthiarf, you didn't make any of that clear. ... But after what you just said I will assume then, that you are saying that w/out manipulating 4-type hair with a CO method, people ALREADY live up to their hairs' potential, which kind of nullifies the need for someone peddling a CO method on people.

  • lol! i love that...bladow! lol thanks a bunch...

i do find when i see those 'looks' of uncertainty in others i just grab a coil and pull it out and twirl it over my fingers...thats my passive aggressive way of saying fk u, take that! LOL
