July 4th, 2005: Artist Dave Cole employs two backhoe tractors to knit a giant American flag in his installation called, The Knitting Machine.

  • okay, so i have decided that the needles they used are made from aluminum light posts.. cos, ZOMG OMG THAT HUGE!!

  • That has got to be the hardest way imaginable to knit... but the end result, the American Flag, is as always, beautiful.
