Tilt-shift Time Lapse of Santa Monica Pier

Song used is called "The Birds Don't Fly This High" by Lone

Equipment used:

DSLR for stills: Nikon D700
Lens: Nikkor AF 80-200 f/2.8D
Cable release: Nikon MC-36 Timer release, interval set to 1 second
Tripod: Manfrotto 190XB and RC322 pistol grip ball head
Exposure: MANUAL
Editing rig: Apple Mac Pro with 3.33gHz 6-core Xeon
Software for post-effects: Photoshop CS5 Standard
Software for video: Final Cut Express
I had fun with this project. Took about 7,000 still shots and about 2,000 of them was not used due to time limit. It took a long time to have every single still curve adjusted then batch lens blur to look tilt-shifted.

The first few scenes I was trying to get that old film look as you can see. So I played around with the contrast and curves to simulate uneven exposures.

To be honest it was totally unexpected how it turned out.

Anyway just a little weekend project I've been wanted to do for a while.

Hope you enjoy! Comments are encouraged :3
