@Floodlezoot I disagree; he just wanted a simple verse about the shepherd, the tyranny of evil men, and the righteous man, which becomes sort of a theme later on. I also think it was justified because his alteration made the delivery perfect.

@slidedat It's like a movie saying the city of London is in Germany or something like that. It's taking something real "the Bible" and altering it's text for the movie maker's convenience. It's more impressive to take something real and not have to alter it to make it work in the movie. Also, it's just disrespectful of a famous book to alter its words. Maybe everyone doesn't have this feeling, but it really bugs me, because simply, it would have been cool if he could have used a real verse.

The flash of golden light at :56 while they waste Brett is the same light in the briefcase. It represents everything Jules spells out in the prayer, basically what it means to be a "bad motherfucker." Brett was trying to gain that power by screwing over Marcellus, the flash was Jules and Vincent taking it back.
