  • Why am I told that Robert Townsend is some great film maker but nobody has ever seen any of his movies?

  • I still possess the VHS of Townsend's "partners in crime" on HBO circa 1986 with damond wayans, Paul Mooney and Franklin ajaye to name a few....still one of the funniest specials EVER!!! Townsend was and is a genius

  • "dont no woman have no 800 #" XD

  • funny

  • What was funny but true about the government cheese is that it was really good. It must have been sitting around for years that's what made it so good it was old cheese. If you go buy a good piece of cheddar now it's not even as good as the government cheese was. You would have to buy something like a super high premium cheddar to taste something like the government cheese was. I know it sounds strange but it was true. They must have said we have a bunch of old cheese give to the poor.

  • I give him more credit for what he did behind the camera as oppose to what he did on camera.

  • @lasigmaman

I wouldn't say underrated - he was a big hit with Partners in Crime and Hollywood shuffle. He gets credit for bringing the Wayans Bros. amongst others their big break

  • Townsend-an outstanding and under-appreciated talent, one who made his point about race relations with a minimum of vulgarity, without rage, and he never beat you over the head with it. A crying shame he didn't surpass lesser talented African-American comics.

  • Father Father tell us about when you were a N*gger father, did you eat the government cheese father? CLASSIC

  • Townsend is under-rated
