Sure it may be kind of obvious that PC Load Letter means it need more paper. But why dosn't it just say "Need more paper" instead.

I think the PC is what throws people off. Most assume it stands for "personal computer", but it stands for "paper cassette". And well, if you work in an office, you should probably know that "letter" is a standard size of paper.

So the printer is saying "load letter sized paper in the paper cassette". A classically cryptic error message. One saying "load paper" would be far more useful.
