An utterly original, irresistible memoir of growing up in a family like no other. In 1960s Miami, Philip Smith's father was a successful decorator by day and a miraculously gifted psychic healer by night -- which made for interesting dinner table conversation and a dramatically different coming of age for Philip

This book was given to me, because I am a medium and intuitve. I do work similar, my clients are based on word of mouth. I haven't read anything yet, that is so real to how it actually is, to have these gifts. It's not dramatic, like the movies. It's strange, being able to always communicate directly to spirits and also have a "day job" I get that. The humour in which you tell the story is perfect. The realism is perfect as dealing with everyday life and the other realm is a unique balance.

This book is a fast read with a good mix of fun name dropping, escapism, intimate familial relationships, and cutting edge (new age) concepts. Having had a Mother that was political and what I perceived as garrulous I can relate to how the author felt growing up near the same time period, as well as how he felt watching his Father age and move from this physical realm. I highly recommend this book.

Well I have to say its one of the best books I have ever read, so far , I at page 105 , and the book has already helped me with my own life in getting back on track with God and my own guides and angels . My wife and brother in law read it and loved it , my wife kept saying you gotta read this book your gonna like it , and I love it ! As its well written and I can relate to most of what he is talking about , and recognize many of the great people his father knew , Arthur ford & Hugh Lyn Cayce .
