Typical Hapkido techniques...

@intelligencesoftware There are two main groups:
Wtf and Itf (international tkd federation).
Itf is the original, traditional Tkd, whilst against wtf is the modern style with focus on full contact competitions.
-
@intelligencesoftware Have you been educated as to the ITF, GTF, ATA, and KKW Forms? Considering that the WTF is the Tournament Organisation, and the Form is supposed to be KKW Formal :)
-
@Sevv921 I know of two main groups: one is WTF (Word Taekwondo Federation) and the other one is American Taekwondo. The video must be in the latter category. I am doing WTF and was told its the more traditional version. No weapons and sparring is different from what I have seen in the western world at TKD clubs.

I watched the videos of your son kicking the focus-pad. If his master feels he is ready, and your son feels ready I would let him compete. While I don't think he's ready for an Olympic-Style Tournament, I do think he is ready for a Semi-Contact Point Tournament. Ask his instructor what type of tournament it is. If its Point, yes. If its Olympic, no.
