This is a quick go-around of Allied Leisure Industries' (ALI) 1971 Sonic Fighter. This electro-mechanical (EM) arcade game used projectors and relays to control the action. Solid state sound effects were also used and are not yet working.

UPDATE: Got the sound and fire button working. See: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=g8mQ3lPjA2Y

  • Super cool, Tony! It looks like a tun of fun, plus the machine just looks awesome, even when turned off. The "control panel" is fascinating. I love an interesting cabinet!

While thankful that I was able to enjoy the video arcade golden era as a child, I regret that I just missed the end of the electromechanical era, and don't remember machines like this very much.

So, when are you going to open a retro-arcade to display all of your treasures? :)

  • Saw your post on NEAC.

Good luck with your sale, EM's are pretty sweet.

    Dan.
