@PeterMarkAzzopardi The 1.7 CDTi 100HP was from Isuzu, this is a newer version of that engine :)

@luka1l Cool! I have a 2003 Vectra 2.0 Dti with the Isuzu engine and its fantastic, my Dad has just ordered a brand new Astra 1.7 Cdti ecotech and I was concerned that it might be a Fiat engine instead of Isuzu so I'm happy now!

I heard the new 2.0 version is a Fiat engine, I went to a local garage recently and was told that the 2.0 has problems and needs to be taken apart and cleaned every 60,000 miles which costs hundreds of pounds. The Isuzu diesel engines seem to last for ever!

@PeterMarkAzzopardi Well, the 2.0 DTI is actually an Opel engine (it's great), the new 2.0 engine from Astra J/Insignia is an upgrade from 1.9 CDTI (Fiat), but i never heard of these problems with cleaning the engine =)

Also we too just ordered the new Astra J with 1.7 CDTI 125 HP, can't wait for it (the movie was taken with a test car) =D

my astra j 2.0 elite when ticking over uses 0.1 to 0.2 fuel maybe u need yours checked over im no expert but tho it could be due to different engine

@luka1l Its a great car with a great engine, my Dad has ordered the SE in black, looks v nice with the alloys, although he went for the 110 HP but he is 68 so he probably won't mind lol
