@EvilSpoofAuthor It all started when George Clooney left. That's when the show stopped being fun. That, and Abe Benrubi leaving. Those two had most of the humor on the show. Even Randi stopped being interesting. ER just got too serious for its own good. IMHO, the humor was what kept "ER" from becoming just another self-important medical drama that took itself too seriously.

Still, I never missed an episode, because in the end, however briefly, it got it back again.

As my completely honest opinion, I'm surprised it lasted that long. I quit watching it in Season 10, when they killed off Romano in the worst plot possible. But I was getting a little tired after 9th season anyway. It seemed to me that some of the characters got brain transplants that changed their personalities. No offense to those who liked those last seasons, it just wasn't the same anymore to me.
